Recently I had the opportunity to Photograph the Fine Art of Ray Zovar.

Ray is a Madison Wisconsin area based Artist. Ray contacted me to photograph his new Acrylic free standing illuminated sculptural paintings. Together we thought about the best way to display his unique fine art. Ray decided to have me photograph his Sculptures on location, in a commercial office setting to better show the scale and usability of his work. I contacted Target Commercial Interiors in Madison Wisconsin and they agreed to allow us to use their space for this photography.

These works of art are Painted on Cotton Fabric,fortified with a clear resin and mounted on thin fiberglass. They are illuminated be LED lighting to give them a unique and stunning presentation.

Last week I had the opportunity to shoot for a Frozen Pizza Company called O'Grady Pizza. I was hired to shoot their new line of 8 inch Gluten Free Pizzas. They are using the photography on the exterior of each box, I am looking forward to seeing the final results.

Senior Portrait in HDR

Fun with HDR Processing!

I had the opportunity to shoot a senior this past summer, it was unusual for me as I am a Commercial Photographer. 

It was a very hot and humid day so we decided to shoot in the Pheasant Branch Conservancy in Middleton, Wisconsin. This allowed us to be in the shade and have beautiful filtered light.
I used only a 20inch reflector as a key light source.

The shots were awesome! Once I got this particular shot in the computer I thought it may make for an interesting HDR image.
The image turned out better than I had imagined.

I offer exterior location photography, I spend an hour or so and deliver around 100 shots to choose from, after going through all the shots you choose up to 6 images that I then retouch and deliver you proofs. After the proof stage you can select the best shot for the yearbook (I then size the photo, format the image and name it) the deadline for Middleton is the second week of September.

Summer Solstice is June 21st!

This is my favorite time of year, the Summer Solstice! This refers to the longest period of daylight in the Northern Hemisphere. It not only gives us more daylight it is also the time of year to Photograph Exteriors with a North facing elevation. North facing structures have always been a challenge for Architectural Photographers. Within a few weeks of June 21st we are able to capture skim light on those Northern Facades. Night shots are also a great choice for North facing buildings and an excellent way to hide poor landscaping. Take this time to evaluate your projects and decide if now is the time for Professional Photography.

Advertising photography on Location is my specialty, in this instance the Product is Residential Pool finished installations. Shooting at the right time of day and correct composition techniques is key to the success of these images. Additional lighting is not needed in this situation, available light and correct exposure creates amazing results. Industrial Commercial Photographer, Madison Wisconsin

  

Industrial Location Photography is an art in itself!

Shooting on Location requires special equipment to handle the hostile conditions found in Industrial environments. Producing quality results involve communication with my clients and execution of the actual photography without interrupting the daily workflow of the manufacturing plant. 

The following shots were achieved in a Plasma Booth that needs to be sealed before the operator can begin the process. For these shots I needed to trigger my camera and additional strobe lighting remotely.

Once the process starts I can control the the capture from my computer.

Industrial Products on Location

Shooting products on Location is beneficial to my clients as it saves them the time of traveling to the Photo Studio and also helps get the products back into inventory quicker.  

Large product  silhouette on location 

Many times my clients require the photography be on a white background, with small products I am able to shoot on a seamless white paper background. In this case the product was much too big so the silhouette was done in post-production.
